About the Book
This book is the result of our work since 2012. It starts from early photo happenings made by Valera Cherkashin in Ukraine in the 1960s, continues through the post soviet time and our happenings in Moscow metro station Revolutionary Square. Since 1994 we were able to travel out of Russia and did a number of actions as a reaction to the new places and circumstances.

About the Book
The bright and tragic time of Perestroika radically influenced our art and brought a lot of new ideas and materials to it. We went beyond the image format into space and began to make installations and three-dimensional objects. Besides we also continued to do performances, not personal ones, but in a public environment.

About the Book
After the first trip to the USA in 1994, we continued to work with monuments of the Soviet era, as with mirages of the past.
During our travels, we became interested in the imperial cultures of other countries: the USA, Germany, Spain, Japan, and how imperial thinking was expressed in their art and architecture. Thus the project "Mirages of Empires" was born.
